School put in lockdown twice ESCANABA - Classes continued throughout much of the day Thursday at the Escanaba Middle School, even as school officials instituted two separate lock-downs of the facility.
The first occurred at approximately 7:55 a.m. when a student was observed hiding what appeared to be a weapon on school property.
Escanaba Public Safety Det. Sgt. Tony LaPlant was notified.
